I try to be relevant and positive on these boards. We have a conservative radio host here, (howiecarr.us) who portrays a silly on-the-spot weatherman --with howling winds and snowplows in the background -- "This is Biff Buffington on-scene in Saugus! The last gallon of milk just left Star Market! There is no bread! Toilet paper was exhausted at 3 o'clock! Miss--are there any eggs left inside?" etc. etc. Stores closed early Friday, but most were open Saturday. More foolish than stupid.

I appreciate the shout-out. I was brought up in Connecticut, went to college in central Maine, and have lived in Boston for almost 40 years. 24 inches of snow are just an inconvenience to me. I'm hoping I can get a taxi shift (I drive part-time)--should be great business out there! Enjoy your 60-degree weather down there!

I appreciate and agree with your posts on "Better or Worse" thread. The Fed/Gov are printing money like hell and turning the deficit into a bottomless pit. Do they actually want to sink our country, or are they just so short-sighted they want to protect their staterooms on the Titanic?
