There are actually several Toyota products I like, but I hate to buy one and reward the company that builds the Prius, which is driven almost exclusively by smug, politically correct, bedwetting liberals.

I find it curious that several posts accuse CR of being bias towards Toyota. If they would examine CR's methodology, they would see that it is the CR readers that make the ratings! I have been a CR subscriber and I considered it a honor and privilege to report on the new cars I had purchased. It is a fair and unbiased way of determining who makes the most reliable vehicle. How can you argue with a 1.2 million sample size?

I agree. Since owning Toyotas I am impressed by their reliability.
Too bad for Ford. I hear their new 6-speed automatics are trouble-prone. Toyota tends to stick with proven technology, even if it's old.
As for Chrysler - it was always near the bottom, just above Range Rover and Jaguar.

Consumer Reports: Toyota is tops for reliability and the usual CR haters come out to comment because their vehicle is not top on the lists. Ahhhhh! Don't believe the ratings, be closed minded and drive the crap that you do. I have always driven Honda's and can't go wrong with them. My current vehicle was paid off many years ago and I don't need any car payments now! I will drive my current vehicle into the ground before buying anything new, used, EV, Inbred, diesel, hydrogen, alternative fuel, CNG, concept and certainly not a Prius, Tesla, Leaf, Volt or an NYC/Sandy Special 'exploding submarine Fiskar Karma Inbred! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

Reliable but boring cars and trucks. The Tacoma has not had a major refresh in years.

Toyota had massive recalls a few years back, and tried mightily to cover up and deny the sticking accelerator. Several people died as a result. Buy American.

In spite of the Consumer Reports bias over the years - I agree on this one I have switched brands over the years with out viehicles and now we have Lexus and they just have had no problems.
