Honda slashes profit outlook on disasters, sees rebound

Reuters -- Honda Motor Co slashed its annual profit guidance to the lowest level in three years as it counted the cost of natural disasters in Japan and Thailand and a strong yen. But it forecast a healthy rebound next year.

Japan's No.3 automaker was the slowest to recover from the supply chain disruptions after the Japanese earthquake and tsunami and it was the only carmaker whose factory was inundated by historic floods in Thailand, Southeast Asia's export hub.

Honda cut its expectations for operating profit for the business year to March 31 by a quarter to 200 billion yen ($2.6 billion), below the average forecast of 24 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S of 283 billion yen. It marks a drop of 65 percent compared with year-earlier profits.

Honda will rebound. Slower maybe, but it will come back. And without the salvation offered to a people whose culture has been around a lot longer than the US.

They are going to need the money to rebuild but what they need more than the money is Yeshua, Salvation, Jesus. Lord bless them the people in Japan with knowledge of you and your everlasting kingdom.

I could care less about what happens to foreign car manufacturers. I only care about American factories.

That was one monstrous write-off for them to take. Does it have the same effect as a good old fashioned USA BAILOUT?

It would be nice if they wouldn't threaten their dealerships if the dealership would work with car buyers on getting the best bargain. Honda threatened them that they would have their dealership pulled out from under them.

If you wonder why your new Honda smells fishy it's because it's been re-cycled.

I understand the Earthquake & Tsunami causes here, but the Thailand flooding? What/how does that affect Honda? Do they have facilities there? First I've ever heard of it if so.
